What makes the Inspired Memorys experience different from other photographers? Jen Memory has the refreshing ability to take what could be a stressful experience and make it easy. As one recent client said, “Jen Memory is fantastic. Not only is she extremely talented and creative, but she has such a kind, welcoming, and happy spirit. I felt instantly comfortable with Jen which allowed me to be myself and have some fun during our shoot. Jen is very organized and great with direction. She really does go above and beyond.” Jen’s personality immediately puts her clients at ease. She is outgoing, down to earth, flexible, and creative. Her goal is to capture the best of her clients and to do almost anything to get the perfect shot. She has the ability to make you feel relaxed, even if you’re not accustomed to being in front of a camera. She is skilled at giving direction and making helpful suggestions with regard to poses and wardrobe. Because she is so invested in each client, Jen takes her time and makes sure that she is focusing on the emotion of each moment. Jen will always confirm your “must-have” shots at the beginning of the session and listen to your feedback. She wants each photograph to capture the emotion of the moment – whether it’s a family reunion, a high school graduation, or a couple’s wedding. Inspired Memorys aims to capture the story of your special occasion and to create a fresh and modern photographic work of art which you will treasure for years to come.
Jen has become one of the more sought-after family photographers in the area. She believes that the experience of being photographed should be easy and light, no matter the size of the group or the age of the subjects. Photographing family groups can be stressful, but Jen makes the process fun. She enjoys children of all ages and can be silly with a two-year-old or put a teenager at ease. With each session, her goal is to engage her clients so that they enjoy themselves and the process. The final portraits reflect the unique personality of each person who is photographed, bringing out the very best in your family.
Jen’s reputation as a photographer of high school seniors has spread quickly. At Inspired Memorys they understand the significance of your senior year and the importance of capturing your true personality to commemorate this milestone event in your life. In all of her sessions, Jen strives to reveal each student’s authentic self. This can be accomplished only by making seniors feel comfortable and relaxed. For most seniors, this is their first experience with portrait photography, and they feel awkward at first. Jen’s calm manner and easygoing personality make the whole experience enjoyable. She has an amazing eye for detail and knows exactly which poses and back drops show your genuine personality. Inspired Memorys can offer hair and make-up services to create different looks within the same session – a session where you can be yourself and have fun. The end result will be stunning photographs in which you look your best.
Inspired Memorys accepts a limited number of weddings each year. By limiting the number of weddings, Jen is able to give each couple her full attention and provide the highest quality service to them. Jen puts thought into every detail, right down to the packaging she uses to send out the final product. Her experience with engagement and wedding photography means your day will be reflected in a way that is uniquely you. She prides herself on getting to know each couple and their personalities. She feels honored to document the magical candid moments of these special occasions, and, through the process of shooting engagement and wedding photographs, Jen’s clients become her friends.
Jen studied photography at the Sawtooth School for Visual Art where one of her photographs was selected for the Annual Fall Student Show. Mentored by well-known photographer Carisa Chee, Jen was nominated for Favorite Local Photographer for Triad Moms on Main. Her wedding photographs have been featured in Forsyth Woman Engaged, and she has had four photographs included in Winston-Salem Monthly advertisements. One of her senior portraits was selected for Instaseniors on Instagram. She feels blessed to live in the historic city of Winston-Salem NC where sites such as Old Salem, Tanglewood Park, and the Reynolda House Museum of American Art are incredibly beautiful all year-round. When not taking photographs, Jen spends time with her husband and two dogs, Maggie and Murphy. As a breast cancer survivor, an important part of her life is volunteering with the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
What inspires her passion for photography? “The feeling I get when I turn the camera around and show a client what they look like for the first time. I have had girls, moms, and dads tear up. It makes everything I do so worth it.”
